Themes for Rizzoma

Rizzoma is a highly capable and flexible application, but its interface can also be complicated and unintuitive. These extensions change the appearance to look slightly more familiar and attempt to slightly simplify things.

The most extensive of my Rizzoma themes, Material Design for Rizzoma brings some ideas from my Rizzoma for Android mock-ups to the desktop web app. It cleans up some of the layout, simplifies the color palette and layers, and does its best to implement aspects of the Material guidelines for things such as avatars, shadows, and icons.

It also adds the same quality-of-life improvements as Googley Styles.

What would Rizzoma look like as a Google app? This theme brings it visually in line with the current (at time of release) Google web app “Kennedy” design language. It makes the Rizzoma interface more familiar (at time of release) to new users, simplifies the visual clutter with some of Kennedy's flatter and more minimalist tendencies where possible, and brings some visual cohesion to an app not built on a unified design language.

It also tweaks some text labels and adds small quality-of-life improvements from Google apps, such as / to focus the search box.

A Rizzoma inbox with the Googley Styles extension installed has a search box themed like Google apps. A Rizzoma public wave with the Googley Styles extension installed has toolbar buttons themed like Google apps and less aggressive shadows. The Rizzoma store with the Googley Styles extension installed has red simple tabs like Google apps.
